In "Rad," Sutton challenges us to embrace the intersection of art and technology, to explore the untapped depths of our culture, and ultimately to redefine our perception of reality. The exhibition invites us to look beyond the physical world, into a realm that is as profound as it is abstract. An encounter with "Rad" is a philosophical odyssey, a journey into the essence of youth culture, the timeless, absolute, unchangeable ideas that exist beyond the constraints of time and space.

In Olympia, artist Barry Sutton’s synthetic photographs capture the raw emotion, competitive spirit, and complex political undertones that accompany the global event that is the Olympic Games. Olympia is ultimately a provocation more than a statement, celebrating the Games’ spirit of achievement, while also challenging viewers to confront the global social climate surrounding its presence.

In Mythologies II, artist Barry Sutton continues his exploration of historical narratives through hacking the symbols of cultural iconography to uncover hidden internal assumptions and contradictions subverting their significance.

Mythologies II

Barry Sutton's "Mythologies" is an evocative exploration of the human condition, a breathtaking synthetic odyssey that delves into the essence of our collective narratives. The exhibition is an audacious tapestry that weaves the corporeal form with the threads of contemporary iconography, presenting a tableau that is as provocative as it is poetic.

In 2003, after a decade of documenting the rise of west coast rap music in his native Los Angeles, Sutton moved to Miami Beach and began making photographs of the beautiful people he met – surfers, celebrities, waiters, models, strangers and friends. When he wasn't doing client work, he roamed the beaches from the Sagamore Hotel to south of Fifth, getting to know the people who made this beach their temple – and who graciously allowed him to make photographs with them.
